Kyle was born in Midland , TX , in 1979 and has lived all over the state. Given that he was always banging around on things such as his mom's pots and pans, Kyle's parents bought him his first drum set (a really spiffy "Muppets" set) when he was only three years old. He got his first "real" drum set when he was 14 and has since been in numerous bands.

Drumming influences include Danny Carey (Tool), Lars Ulrich (Metallica), Carter Beauford (Dave Matthews Band), Neal Peart (Rush), John Humphreys (The Nixons/Huver), Dave McClain (Machine Head) and Mike Luce (Drowning Pool).
